WAMPUM JEWELRY
Wampum is made of Quahog shell. It was used by the Indians on the East coast for ceremonies, adornment
and as a medium of exchange. Wampum became known as a Native person's badge of honor and position.
It is most noted for it's role in historic Treaty Belts of the Iroquois which tell Nation history
and agreements made with other Nations.
Our hand-made jewelry is proudly crafted by inlaying Wampum in hand-carved center pieces. Wampum beads and
nickle silver beads are used in making the choker. Ends are braided deerskin ties. Since each choker is hand-made,
there will be some variation in design, thereby making each piece unique!
